Wasson and Hughes Take Winter League Trail Series Titles

For the second Series Gillian Wasson of Ballymena Runners AC made it a clean sweep of five wins in the Series to take the Overall Female Series Title. Wasson showed her dominance of the Series by putting in fine performances at all five races over a range of distances. Second overall was Olivia Mullin of Greencastle AC who racked up three second places to confirm her Series Runner Up spot. Host Club athlete Laura Mitchell took third place in the ladies Series, with two third places at Lough Fea 5K and An Creagan 5M and a fourth spot at Drum Manor Forest 10K.

In the men’s competition, Eoin Hughes (Acorns AC) won the required three races to take the Male Overall Title, but he was pushed all the way by Seamus Bradley (unaffiliated) who finished Series Runner Up by putting in impressive performances of two second places and a third place against stiff competition in each of the four races that he competed in. Ballymena Runners AC’s Jason Wilson clocked up steady placings over four races to take the Series Third Place.
