Tuesday Training

Our main training session of the week

Format:            Interval/speed work.

Theory:            You don’t have to run fast in training—unless you want to run faster in races!

Time:               6.30pm for warm up

Location:         Loughry college Cookstown

Thursday Training

Format               Warm up followed by run at a comforatbly hard pace (Approximately one hour session)

Theory                Trains the body to sustain speed over distance

Time                    6.30pm

Location             April to September    Lougry College

                            October to March       Turkington’s car park


Format               Longer, slower runs

Time                  9.00am Sunday

Location            Asda car park

Other training runs such as forest runs are also organised through social media. Various distance options available

Sperrin Harriers also take part in many races including the weekly Parkrun at MUSA.  This is a great event which runs every Saturday at 9.30am
