Early Autumn action for Sperrin Harriers

Coronavirus concerns continue to impact the local running scene. Nevertheless, several events have proceeded, both virtually and as races.

A trio of Harriers took part in a half marathon event organised by local running club, Keep ‘Er Lit. The event was very well organised and allowed for competitive times. Brian Taggart put in a fantastic performance, claiming 3rd place with a time of 1.16.32. He was followed by Richard Fox and Declan Morrison in times of 1.38.23 and 1.40.20 respectively.

The latest instalment of the ChampionChip Series was held at Shane’s Castle. Connor Martin competed in the half marathon and finished with an excellent time of 1.20.51, earning himself a top 10 finish in the process.

Two notable virtual events have taken place over the recent period.

Andy Linton completed his first ever half marathon. He ran the 13.1 mile distance for the event organised by Foyle Hospice.

A number of the club’s ladies took part in the Ballymena Belles virtual run organised Ballymena Runners.
