Sperrin Harriers attended a variety of Parkruns at the weekend, enjoying two podium places at Dungannon.
Dungannon Park Parkrun

He was followed by Malcolm McCullough in 21:50, with many congratulations to Rachel Hughes, who not only achieved a tremendous course personal best but also took second lady overall with her time of 21:54. Terry Hughes completed the two lap route in 26:08, to be joined by Martin Donaghy in 27:53, with Jane Thom enjoying her first outing at the Dungannon Parkrun to finish in 30:06.

Adventures in Australia
Sperrin Harriers extend our best wishes to club member Eimear Thom as she embarks on her travels throughout Australia. While you will be missed we hope that you have a great time down under!
Drum Manor Forest Park Vigil
Joining with the huge numbers of people attending vigils in Ireland and beyond, Sperrin Harriers gathered on Saturday in Drum Manor Forest Park to celebrate the life of Ashling Murphy, a young lady who met her tragic end after a brutal attack on Wednesday afternoon beside the banks of the Grand Canal at Cappincur, Co. Offaly. Along with wishing to show support to Ashling’s family and loved ones, the club also feels it vitally important to assert the right of individuals to engage in activities outside, running and otherwise, without fear of attack or harm; and to express that the gender-based violence exhibited by this case, and dismayingly many others, is wholly intolerable.
Sperrin Harriers Winter League
The Sperrin Harriers Winter League continues with the Drum Manor 10k on 29th January, kindly sponsored by TES. It consists of an undulating course which comprises two laps of the famously picturesque Drum Manor forest outside Cookstown, encompassing the area’s striking central lake amongst other landmarks.
The League concludes with the Parkanaur 10M on 26th February (Sponsored by Oliver Corey Garages).
