Undeterred by the bad weather, six Harriers completed marathons over the weekend as part of the Virtual London Marathon and Keep ‘Er Lit marathon.
The roads of Tyrone replaced the streets of London as runners Paul McLaughlin (3.36.30), Raymie Thom (3.36.30) and Declan Morrison (3.52.02) ran the 26.2 mile distance.
Local club, Keep ‘Er Lit, hosted a marathon starting and finishing in Coalisland. The club was well represented with some outstanding performances in challenging conditions. Brian Taggart ran a swift time of 2.46.46. This was good enough for 2nd place on the day. The duo of Jarleth Loughran and Richard Fox both achieved Personal Bests with times of 3.24.29 and 3.24.30 respectively.
On Saturday, Andrew Newell took part in the Les Jones Memorial 5k. This race ran along the banks of the River Lagan and finished beside the Mary Peters Track. Andrew ran a time of 17.57.
