Massive Harriers Support Shown to Local Race

The Newells Stores 5/10k by Keep Er Lit Running has grown to be one of the highlights of local running with over 500 entrants for the 5k and 750 for the 10k.

Newells Stores 5/10k

On Friday Sperrin Harriers had a massive turnout of red vests for a very warm night, though luckily the clouds saved the runners from the hot sun of earlier in the day.
Personal records were plentiful for many of the team and everyone really enjoyed the pre and post race hospitality.

Paul Murray 5k GP Series

Also on Friday, the was the fourth & final round of the Paul Murray 5k GP Series.
Congratulations to Brian Bradley – 21.04 – and Davey O’Brien – 23.59 (on the night times) who completed every race and to Brian Taggart who came 2nd Overall in the Series.

The Academy 5k

Earlier in the week the Sperrin runners were at The Academy 5k on Wednesday night in Dungannon.
Among the prizewinners were Andrew Newell – 2nd overall and Joanne Taggart 3rd lady.

Also congratulations to Barry O’Neill who ran his 150th parkrun at the weekend, another great accomplishment.
