Parkrun Success for Harriers

Sperrin Harriers attended a variety of Parkruns at the weekend, achieving four podium places in the process.

Citypark Parkrun, Craigavon

Andrew Newell scored a tremendous double first at Craigavon, leading the 228 strong field home, with a time of 17:18, in his inaugural outing at the course.

Garvagh Forest Parkrun

Many congratulations to Gordon Linton who finished first out of 67 at Garvagh, in 18:30.

MUSA Parkrun, Cookstown

Saturday saw 82 Parkrunners take to the course at Cookstown, with Mark Reid the first Harrier home in 20:30. He was pursued by Sam Cuddy in 20:57, Steven Dornan in 21:45; with congratulations to Paula McMenemy and Tanya Quinn who ascended the podium once more at MUSA on placing as first and third lady, in 22:28 and 23:34 respectively. Richard Fox completed in 24:51, followed by Kevin McCullagh in 25:01, Grace Glackin in 37:14, Amelia Corey finishing in 57:32.

Omagh Parkrun

Paul McLaughlin joined a field of 79 to finish the Omagh course in 19:58.

Valley Parkrun, Newtownabbey

75 attended Newtownabbey on Saturday, with Colly Gallagher completing his first run at the course in 24:08.

Antrim Parkrun

Amongst the field of 236 who took on the Antrim Parkrun, Nicola Gillespie and Jane Thom finished in 27:18 and 27:27 respectively.

Dungannon Park Parkrun

54 Parkrunners braved the elements at Dungannon on Saturday, Rachel Hughes finishing as the first Harrier in 22:52, followed by Kieran Campbell in 23:40, and Barry O’Neill in 29:36.

Sperrin Harriers Winter League

The Sperrin Harriers Winter League reaches its conclusion with the Parkanaur 10M on Saturday 26th February at 12 noon, kindly sponsored by Oliver Corey Garages. The course follows an undulating trail route which winds through the scenic Parkanaur woodland four miles west of Dungannon, County Tyrone.
