Down Royal Racecourse has become a familiar venue for local runners in recent times, with ChampionChip staging another event there, much to the delight of many athletes who are keen to race again as the COVID restrictions begin to ease. The blazing sunshine and climbing temperatures were less familiar, but welcomed all the same.
A quartet of Sperrin Harriers competed in the 10k race pictured above. They were Andrew Newell (35.07), Brian O’Donnell (42.13), Richard Fox (43.56) and Paul McLaughlin (39.20).
Brian had the standout performance as he ran a Personal Best time for 10k in challenging racing conditions.
