Successful Weekend of Parkruns for Sperrin Harriers

Harriers attended a wide variety of Parkruns, both near and far, achieving a range of podium places and PBs in the process.

 

Limavady Parkrun

Gordon Linton celebrated his first outing at the Limavady course with a fine time of 18:20, placing second out of the 44 runners on the day.

MUSA Parkrun, Cookstown

Saturday saw 81 in attendance at Cookstown, with Paul McLaughlin leading the large Harrier contingent home in 19:03. Sam Cuddy pursued in 20:23, along with Jason O’Neill (20:50), Damien Kelly (21:17), Paula McMenemy (22:01), Martin Kolbohm (23:05), and Leigh Stirrup, with a great new course personal best of 23:07. Damien Atkinson crossed the line in 23:43, followed by Tanya Quinn (24:07), Barry O’Neill (27:36), Norman Fuller (29:32), Amelia Corey (50:24), with Theresa O’Hare closing proceedings as volunteer Tailwalker in 55:43.

Dungannon Park Parkrun

51 took to the Dungannon course on Saturday, including Harriers Malcolm McCullough who completed in 21:43, Patsy Hughes in 24:28, Martin Donaghy in 27:45, and Louise Kelly in 28:13.

Derrynoid Forest Parkrun

Mark Gibson had a fabulous inaugural run at Derrynoid, finishing first out of a field of 43 in 18:20, Michael McCrory crossing the line in 26:17.

Citypark Parkrun, Craigavon

Kieran Campbell joined a large turnout of 216 runners to complete the single lap of Craigavon’s lakes in 23:42.

Fairview Parkrun, Dublin

It was a family affair at Fairview as a trio of ladies took to the Dublin course for the first time. AlannaRose Farley completed in 25:41, soon joined by Oilibhia Farley and Catherine Farley who both crossed the line in 25:44.

Forest Rec Parkrun, Nottingham

Run on a mixture of tarmac and trail paths, along with sections of grass, 189 attended the Forest Recreation Ground in Nottingham. Rebecca Flanagan distinguished herself on the day by not only placing as the second lady overall, but also doing so with a tremendous course PB time of 23:46.

Stunnerz in Runnerz

After a Covid enforced break Sperrin Harriers is excited to announce that our ladies only Stunnerz in Runnerz is back.

The event takes place on Saturday 11th June at 12noon, and covers a chip timed 5k at the scenic Drum Manor Forest Park, outside Cookstown. The day will include a dance warm up at the beginning, with an ice cream van on site for essential refreshment afterwards.

Registration is online only, with no on the day entries, and is £13 affiliated or £15 un-affiliated.
